WE EMPHASIZE EXCELLENCE, FUN, AND ADVENTURES

ScubAmerica is ALL ABOUT enabling people to enjoy and experience the amazing underwater world. To fulfill this mission, we provide thorough instruction for kids and adults from entry-level NAUI Open Water Diver to Advanced Diver. We also provide specialty training in Nitrox, Diver Rescue, and Diver First Aid. Then, we like to take them diving to beautiful diving locations in order to provide our divers with lifelong memories and the desire to experience more. We encourage divers to be lifetime learners pertaining to the Adventure Sport of Scuba Diving, and we provide continuing education and experiences to enable them to learn and dive safely. Along with EXCELLENCE of instruction, we emphasize the FUN of Scuba Diving and the THRILL of seeing amazing things.

ScubAmerica includes two dedicated NAUI dive instructors: Dennis Catron and Ken McCracken. Dennis was trained by Ken in 1982, and is now a professional diver. Ken teaches excellent courses in Garfield County, Colorado and in and around Beaufort, South Carolina. Dennis teaches high-quality courses in south Florida. Both of them accompany divers on their multiple dive trips each year.

For our Colorado students and divers, we work alongside Darren of Scubaventures in Grand Junction, CO. In addition to his dive shop, Darren is a PADI instructor at Colorado Mesa University. He provides a discount for equipment obtained by our students and also arranges dive trips to Mexico, Belize, and elsewhere.

Our Classrooms.

Ken teaches his courses at the City of Glenwood Springs Community Center Pool in Colorado. In Beaufort, South Carolina, Ken teaches at the Beaufort County Rec Center Pool and at the YMCA. Dennis teaches his courses at various pools in south Florida, under the Blue Heron Bridge, and with his dive boat, SURFACE INTERVAL.

Our Colorado Training dives can be done at the Homestead Crater in Midway, Utah where the water is over 90 degrees F year-round (yes, even during the Winter). Dennis provides training dives under the famous Blue Heron Bridge in Riviera Beach, Florida and aboard his custom dive boat. Dennis and Ken also conduct Training Dives on our dive trips for divers who wish to extend their learning in clear, warm water filled with coral and fish life.
